According to, New Delhi, UNI:"He was expected to file his appeal against the TADA court judgment on Saturday. However, the special-leave petition (SLP) is still under preparation and is likely to be filed early next week.
Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt would file early next week his appeal in the Supreme Court against his conviction and sentence by the TADA court under the Arms Act.
Dutt has been sentenced to six-year rigorous imprisonment and is presently lodged in Yerawada jail in Maharashtra.
He was expected to file his appeal against the TADA court judgment on Saturday. However, the special-leave petition (SLP) is still under preparation and is likely to be filed early next week.
Dutt was the last to be convicted in Mumbai serial bomb blast case which had a total of 120 accused, out of which about 12 have been sentenced to death. The appeal is being prepared by a battery of leading lawyers and the appeal will be accompanied by an application for the suspension of sentence and his release on bail.
Dutt was found in possession of illegal arms, including AK-56 rifle, and also having contacts with some of the known underworld dons who are the main convicts in the case.
Over 200 lives were lost in the Mumbai serial bomb blast which had rocked the metropolis city in March 1993."
STILL I STRONGLY SAY< TO HAVE A RIFLE Is NOT a CRIME.
and as far as don contacts go, we all know how may bollywood people have contacts with them. whole industry has money of those dons in their veins then why only sanjay?

'Do you really think I will be released?'
According to India times
PUNE: It's not Gandhigiri that is uppermost on Sanjay Dutt's mind as he spends time in the same prison where Mahatma Gandhi was jailed for a few years.
The Munnabhai actor— who has made the word Gandhigiri fashionable again — is more concerned about getting out of Yerawada Central Jail as soon as it is legally possible, if people visiting him on Friday are to be believed. During his interaction with Pune-based human rights advocate Asim Sarode on Friday, the actor — "at least twice or thrice" — gave the impression that the thought of getting released from jail was uppermost on his mind. "He asked me two to three times, during the conversation we had, whether he could be released," Sarode told TOI on Friday.
Sarode had taken along with him a clipping of a story in the Times Of India (edition of August 1), where he was quoted as saying that Dutt should have been given the benefit of the Probation Act. Dutt seemed to perk up after reading through the report and asked Sarode: "Kya apko sachme lagta hai ke main chhut jaunga (Do you really think that I will be released)?" But Dutt has not totally forsaken Gandhigiri. He expressed his willingness to appear for an examination when informed of the year-long course on Gandhian thought and principles conducted by Sarode's Sahayog Trust for prisoners. "Mujhe achchha lagega yeh exam dena (I would feel happy to appear for this examination)," Dutt told Sarode.
Sarode met Dutt on Friday morning when he went there to meet inmates who were taking help of the legal aid offered by his trust.
"I went to meet him and we had a chat about the examination on Gandhi's principles. I told him that we started the course for inmates in 2002, much before he made Gandhigiri famous again," Sarode told TOI.
Sarode told TOI it would be good if Dutt appeared for the examination on Gandhiji's principles as it would encourage others in the jail. "I feel he will make a good teacher for our course, what with his experience of acting in Lage Raho Munnabhai," he said.
Dutt appeared to have accepted that he would be spending some time at least in prison.

MUMBAI: Sanjay Dutt may have heaved a sigh of relief when he was acquitted of Tada charges. But experts — both police officers and prosecutors — are now beginning to say that the Arms Act, under which Dutt has ultimately been found guilty and sentenced to six years in jail, is also a very potent law that agencies have often used to book hardened criminals.
"Certain sections of the Arms Act were regularly used by Mumbai Police to break the back of the underworld," public prosecutor Rohini Salian said. She added that the potency of the law could easily be gauged from Section 27 of the Act which says that any convict, who murders a man with an automatic weapon, is punishable only with death. "It is amply clear that he was found in possession of an assault weapon in a notified area which, in itself, is a very serious crime," said Salian.
Former Mumbai police commissioner A S Samra agreed, adding that the Arms Act had been instrumental in controlling the flow of deadly weapons into the city. "My constables were armed with .303 rifles. You can imagine what havoc would have occurred if the civilian population started roaming around with AK-56s," Samra said.

Release Sanjay Dutt
I Live in Los Angeles. and i strongly feel no matter what, Sanjay Dutt should be released. He has given 27 years to Bollywood. He is marvelous actor, not only he, but his father , mother, uncles. there are people in India, they can not catch knowingly that they did something wrong. Here Sanjay who now is alone, is in jail.
I plea to all bollywood people, they we expect that they all stop working till sanjay comes out with a guarantee that he will not be bothered again.
If u have a weapon, you should not be punished for 6 years and he has already served 18 months. Its sad, and i wish and hope and pray that Sanjay comes out soon.
Truth always wins, he will come out though in anyway, it would be good if his bollywood friends protest for him. If i had been there, i would simply stop working.
any comments suggestions??
